Building Operations

The Property is cleaned, secured and maintained by a dedicated group of companies and employees. Their goal is to provide all Tenants with a clean, safe and enjoyable place to work. The information and contact numbers below are to help you know who and how to contact the appropriate staff member to assist you.

Building Management is provided by Forest City. To discuss special events, building management or lease related issues please call (415) 777-6370 or e-mail eingrao@hearst.com.

We hope you find the Chronicle Building an exciting and enjoyable place to work. The following pages provide some basic information about how the building works. We hope they make your transition into the building easier and your time here more enjoyable. 

Security

Building Security is provided by Corporate Security Services. They have an officer monitoring the video security and life safety systems of the property and an officer at the desk in the 901 Mission St. Lobby 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In addition, they provide a roving officer who does internal and external tours of the property. Security may be contacted by calling (415) 777 – 7192.

In case of unauthorized entry, theft, an accident resulting in physical damage or injury, a medical emergency, or fire, contact Building Security immediately by calling their emergency line at (415) 777 – 8000 and calling 911. 

 

Engineering

Building System support and maintenance is provided by the Building Engineers. They handle all HVAC, plumbing, elevator, building access and electrical issues. A Building Engineer is on site Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To report a problem, or request a service, please have your Office Liaison complete an on-line GCAware Work Request and specify – Building Engineers. In an emergency please contact security at (415) 777 – 7192 and they will contact an Engineer by radio.

 


Janitorial

Building Cleaning and Minor Repair services are provided by GCA Services Group. To report a problem, or request a service, please have your Office Liaison complete an on-line GCAware Work Request and specify Janitorial (for cleaning issues) or Handyman (for minor repair issues). For inquiries you may email Property Manager at [email protected]. In an emergency, please contact Security at [email protected] or (415)-777-7192 and they will contact the appropriate GCA staff member by radio.

 
 
Heating & Cooling Systems
 
Building systems, i.e. boiler for heating and building cooling systems operate between the hours of 6:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturdays.
 
If there are any requests for heating beyond the above stated operating hours, there will be additional billing for these services as indicated in your lease.  

Note: Per the S.F.F.D, auxiliary heaters are not permitted in the building however the Property Management has outlined a heater acceptable by the Fire Department and is the only heating units allowed by law inside this building.
QMARK Electric Flat Panel Heater, Radiant, 120v

If desired, you may purchase this at Granger (Granger Item# 1DKW3) or Property Management can purchase it for you and add on to your additional support charges.
