INTERSECTION & OFF THE GRID | WHEN: Sept 7 noon–2 pm | WHERE: 5th and Minna St DETAILS: Featuring four potent creative musical voices of The Bay Area, this chord-less quartet, lead by Smith will delve into the depths of both straight-ahead jazz as well as its more harmonically open outcroppings. The sound of the group is akin to early Ornette Coleman with a dose of Lester Young.
