Featuring Johnston on trumpet with David Phillips on pedal-steel guitar and Daniel Fabricant on bass, the moods they create range from melancholia to rollicking swing, as if the soundtrack to a deeply moving film that is yet to be made.

HUB & INTERSECTION | WHEN: Sept 24, 5 pm | WHERE: 925 Mission St | DETAILS: An informal gathering for Hub members, the Intersection for the Arts community and people who want to grow a creative community together. Genocide, wildfires, mass shootings, tsunamis, oil spills, nuclear meltdowns — the work of many artists and social entrepreneurs involves making change in response to tragedy and trauma. The Arts & Entrepreneurship Forum invites you to make this important work known. We’re hosting an open mic for Intersection and HUB members to pitch their projects on disaster relief. In preparation, you are requested to post notices, pictures and ideas about your disaster relief work on a billboard that will rotate between the two organizations a month prior to the open mic.
